SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Ridge families. We encourage you to make safe choices over the break regarding socializing and celebrating as we want to continue offering school in-person for the hybrid model. Please note that if your child is absent for an extended time in the hybrid model, they will follow their at-home days as they usually would which include specials. For days when they would be in school, they may attend the planned livestream period, afternoon meets, and follow plans in Google Classroom for reading, writing, and math. Additional practice is always an option as well. (They do not attend specials on those days, only on their regularly scheduled at-home days.) We are unable to supply additional work in these circumstances. As we understand and respect family choices and needs, we ask that you understand our model and the teacher’s need to attend to our in-person learners. Thank you.
Please take a few minutes to read this letter from Dr. Schoenlank regarding the Bill Ward Fund, a fund unique to Ridge School.
MORNING HEALTH QUESTIONNAIRE….Please remember that we are not allowed to let children into the building without this being completed. As the weather gets cooler, it’s important that you fill this out before bringing your child to school.
NOVEMBER/DECEMBER Calendar…..Here is the calendar for the rest of 2020…November December 2020.pdf
SCHOOL PHOTOS….If you haven’t yet ordered your child’s school photos, see the attached flyer for the Thanksgiving discount. We’ve also attached the directions for ordering your photos online. Photo Ordering Directions.pdf Rod Bolten Photography Thanksgiving Sale 2020.pdf
HOLIDAY “WISHING’ TREE….There are about five wishes left on our Wishing Tree if you still want to participate. It is on the front patio during school hours if you want to pick a snowflake with a wish on it. All gifts need to be returned (unwrapped) by early December. Thank you in advance!
HOLIDAY COIN DRIVE…..the Ridge Leadership Council is once again collecting coins to be able to provide a family with all their holiday needs. There is a bucket in each classroom if children wish to bring in some coins!
HEALTH NOTICES:
IMPORTANT.....Please read this letter from the Health Office about High Risk Covid Protocols: High Risk Covid Protocols.pdf
All children need to wear a CLEAN mask to school each day….cloth masks can be washed, and others should be swapped out each day. This preserves the effectiveness of the mask.
When calling your child in sick to the nurse, please be specific about your concerns; do not use vague “isn’t feeling well” – please let me know if they have a stomach ache, cough, sore throat, etc. Also, if you are emailing the teacher about an absence, please copy Mrs. Manke at cmanke@ridgewood.k12.nj.us
